Climate of a Taiga forest.
The Taigan forests are located in the northern most parts of the world; including a large portion of Canada, and most of Russia. Because of the location of the biome, the land is dominated by the cold arctic air which causes a noticably colder climate then the rest of the world's biomes. The biome is cold both because of the arctic air and the fact that in the winter, the portion of earth that the Taiga forest's are located are tilted away from the sun, which causes much less heat to reach the forests. The climate of the forest is dominated mostly by 8 months of weather below 10 degrees and for 4 months above 10 degrees. The winter in the Taiga is a very cold and snow filled 7 months with an average precipitation of 40 cm a year. The spring in a Taiga sometimes will last all the way through April, but when spring hits the snow melts fast and the 4 months of 10 degrees and up begins.
Temperature
The lowest temperatures recorded in the Taiga forest is -54 degrees and the highest being around +30 in the summer months.
precipitation
In the Taiga regions it is common for up to 30-84 cm of precipitates a year which is mostly rain which comes down in the summer. The rest forms snow which falls in the 7-8 months of winter this biome has yearly.
What to bring
If your planning a trip to a Taiga region in the near future, you may want to consider going in the summer; if not your going to need to bring heavy warm clothes and boots, and some way to catch food if you plan on spending time away from civilization(such as ice fishing rods) If the plan to go is in the summer you will need to bring basic supplies such as water and food. Light clothes are recommended as it does get fairly warm in the summer in the Taigan forests. Although i wouldn't recommend shorts in the forest as the mosquitoes will bite you until you are mad. There are a few dangerous animals in the Taiga such as the black bear which if provoked or has its cubs tampered with will become hostiles towards humans, although they usually just run away.
